ㅁThis is pronounced ‘m’ . For example; Mother . Its korean name is ‘mium’. It’s pronounced pretty much the same way it is written but with the sound ‘u’ stressed at the end of the last ‘m’ sound. For more insight check out my online video tutorial;

SIMPLE CONSONANT 4:ㄹ

ㄹThis is pronounced ‘L’ when it occurs at the beginning of a word and ‘r’ when it occurs within a word. Its korean name is ‘liul’. It’s pronounced pretty much the same way it is written but with the sound ‘u’ stressed at the end of the last ‘l’ sound. It is like a single rolled Spanish ‘r’ or like the ‘tt’ in ‘butter’ in some American dialects.  If there are two of them together, it becomes a solid ‘l’.
